Action on Hearing Loss
Action on Hearing Loss is the new name for RNID, a national organisation which has been providing services for people with hearing loss for over 100 years.
Action Deafness has been based in Leicester since 1897. They provide innovative services locally and further afield, fulfilling a range of health and local authority contracts across the UK. These include community support services, services for black and minority ethnic communities, advocacy, interpreting and much more.
Connecting Older People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Action on Hearing Loss and Action Deafness have brought together their expertise and knowledge to develop a project providing peer-to-peer support, information, signposting and practical help for older people with hearing loss.
The project offers advice on hearing loss, the long-term management of hearing aids and creates opportunities for people to come together. It also supports local organisations to make services more inclusive for people with hearing loss.
This project is being delivered citywide.
